Pawar asks to gear up for elections

Last Updated 10 October 2012, 20:17 IST

Asking his partymen to gear up for elections, NCP chief Sharad Pawar, who was in Vadodara on Wednesday, admitted that the country was going through a bad time and the party should be prepared for any eventuality.

Addressing his party workers, Pawar said that there were elections in some states in the coming few months and it was decided that the elections would be fought in a coalition.

``Since last elections, Congress and NCP are fighting elections together, and our party has decided to fight this election also with Congress. We know that Congress is a big party but the distribution of seats should be done properly,’’ said Pawar. He said that the leaders of the party had clearly stated that if the seat distribution was not satisfactory, then functioning like a coalition would be difficult.
