Mayor to table ward-wise work details

The Ward-wise programme of works will be tabled in the Bruhat Bangalore Mahangara Palike Council soon, said Mayor D Venkatesh Murthy on Thursday in an attempt to pacify his detractors among BJP corporators.

The Mayor ruled out the reports on dissatisfaction among the BJP corporators over a lack of transparency in the functioning of the Palike.

“There are no differences. The corporators on Wednesday had discussed the delay in implementing works,” said Murthy.

BJP leader N Nagaraju, Deputy Mayor L Srinivas and senior BJP corporators at their meeting, complained about the unilateral decisions taken by the Mayor and Commissioner Rajneesh Goel. They also alleged that the standing committee chairpersons were also kept away from the decision-making process.

Garbage crisis

Clarity on the disposal of garbage would come only after new tenders are floated, the Mayor said, while commenting on a dispute between contractors and the Palike over collection of the segregated waste.

“In the existing garbage tender, there is no clause on the collection of segregated waste,” said the Mayor.
