Two persons were arrested for killing a Bihar-based extortionist in Delhi over avenging the murder of one the accused younger brother by the extortionist in the native place, police said.

Rajesh, 23, and Vipin, 40, both resident of Lakhisarai in Bihar, were arrested from their native place in Bihar on Wednesday, a senior police officer said.

Body found

Police said on September 30 they found an unidentified body of a man, aged around 25 years, with head injury in DDA Jungle near Samshi Talab at Mehrauli.

After investigation, the victim was identified as Sarvesh Kumar of Lakhisarai in Bihar. He was residing in a rented accommodation in n Mehrauli.

With the help of call details of Kumar, police found that he was last seen with Rajesh. They also found that Rajesh was also not traceable since the incident.  On October 10 police arrested Rajesh and Vipin from Lakhisarai in Bihar who confessed their involvement in the murder.

During interrogation, they told police that Sarvesh was an extortionist in Bihar. He had murdered Jelu of his village, who was also an extortionist.

Sarvesh came to Delhi in September this year and used to extort money from Rajesh and few others at Sabji Mandi in Mehrauli.

Bodha, brother of Jelu, hatched a conspiracy with Rajesh, Vipin Ram and Gopal to eliminate Sarvesh.

Bodha came to Delhi. Rajesh to gain Sarvesh’s confidence called him and both drank together.

According to plan, on September 29 Rajesh called Sarvesh and took him to jungle behind Aam Bagh Kothi in Mehrauli.

Bodha, Vipin Ram, Gopal and another person yet to be identified were already present there. They caught hold of Sarvesh and dragged him towards jungle while Bodha attacked him on his head with a stone.  They then dumped the body there and fled.

Police said efforts are on to nab the rest of the accused.
