Former chief minister D V Sadananda Gowda took a dig at his predecessor B S Yeddyurappa on Monday, saying the BJP would lose nothing if the latter quits the party.

Yeddyurappa will have no future, if he resigns from the party, Gowda told reporters here.
BJP was not a party depending on any individual leader, he said.

Gowda warned Yeddyurappa that none of the BJP leaders may quit the party along with him, leaving him in the lurch.

“The BJP will be free of taint if these leaders resign from the party,” he said. If Yeddyurappa had grievances, he could get them redressed through talks with party leaders.

He could even return to power, if he remained in the party, Gowda said. There was still time for the former chief minister to reconsider his decision to resign from the BJP, he said.
