Former chief minister B S Yeddyurappa has refused to change his mind on severing his ties with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
“There is no question of me changing mind even if the Central leadership asks me to stay back,” said Yeddyurappa.
He was at Boodagumpa in the taluk on Tuesday to inaugurate construction of a dairy of the Karnataka Milk Federation.
Yeddyurappa said he would resign from the primary membership of the party and from the legislator’s post before launching his new party in December.
“I have discussed with new party workers. Name and symbol of the proposed party will be decided soon,” he added.
Replying to a question, he said that he would not destabilise the Jagadish Shettar-led BJP government in the State.
