Steady start for Karnataka

Rain played spoilsport on the opening day of the four-day C K Nayudu Trophy Elite Group A match between Karnataka and Gujarat at the  JIRS Ground on Friday.

Karnataka, after electing to bat, were 190/2 in 51.5 overs in their first innings when heavy rain forced close of play. Opener KL Rahul was batting on 94, while Kunal Kapoor was giving him company with an unbeaten 58. The two have so far added 136 runs for the third wicket.
Rahul’s 164-ball knock contained 11 boundaries and one six. Earlier, opener K B Pawan fell for one while captain Ganesh Satish made 21. Faisal Dhudhat and Kushang Patel claimed one wicket apiece for Gujarat.
