Within a span of less than a month after the bodies of a pair of siblings — subjected to sexual assualt — were found, another body of a boy, suspected to be sodomised, was found at New Usmanpur in north-east Delhi on Wednesday.

The body of the 10-year-old boy, who went missing from outside his house on Sunday, was found in a half-naked condition. Police suspect the victim might have been killed after being sodomised. According to police, the victim lived with his parents and nine siblings at Doosra Pushta in New Usmanpur.

He had gone out to play in a nearby ground on Sunday, but did not return. His family members got worried and began a search in the locality with neighbours and contacted his friends. The boy’s father Fakhruddin decided to approach police after all their efforts failed till late Sunday.

“A case of kidnapping was registered and investigation taken up. The victim’s body was finally found around 10 am on Wednesday at a deserted place in Yamuna Khadar jungles. It was identified by Fakhruddin,” a police official said.

Sources said part of the body had been partially eaten up by animals, and boy was identified by his clothes.

The body has been sent to Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital for a post-mortem. The official, however, said the exact reason behind the death is yet to be ascertained. Police have also not ruled out the possibility of sexual assault on the victim.

“We are investigating all the angles and can only confirm if he was sexually assaulted after receiving the post-mortem report,” the official added.

Charge of murder has been added in the case lodged over the incident.
In a similar incident, a five-year-old boy and his three-year-old sister were killed after being subjected to sexual assault by two youths in New Usmanpur last month.

Arman and Usma, residents of Khajoori Khas, were found lying in a pool of blood with several injury marks in the jungle of New Usmanpur on September 26. They had been missing from near their residence since September 25.

Police had later arrested Mohammad Sadab and Mohammad Mia over a statement by a seven-year-old girl and a 10-year-old boy who told police that attempts were made to kidnap them as well on the same night.
