Three persons, including two women, were killed in the City, in separate accidents in the last two days.
A 21-year-old youth, who went to visit his uncle’s house, was allegedly crushed to death after a water tanker rammed him against a compound wall in Rajajinagar on Wednesday.
Prashanth, a resident of Rajajinagar and a third-year diploma student at Vasavi College in Vijayanagar, died on the spot, said police.
The driver of the tanker, who was called by his uncle to fetch water, was leaving the compound when Prashanth was caught between the tanker and the compound wall.
The driver fled the spot. Peenya Traffic Police have registered a case.
Pillion rider killed A 22-year-old woman was killed in an accident on Hegganahalli Main Road Wednesday night.
Vijayalakshmi was a supervisor at a working women's hostel at Hegganahalli.
On Wednesday evening, she was riding pillion on a bike when a speeding mini truck heading from the opposite direction rammed the two-wheeler.
Both Vijayalakshmi and her relative Prakash, who was riding the bike, fell down.
The two were returning to the hostel after visiting their relative’s place for the festival.
Vijayalakshmi, who sustained severe head injuries, died on the spot.
Prakash was rushed to a nearby private hospital and his condition is said to be stable.
The Rajagopalanagar police who arrived at the spot arrested Jagadeesh, the driver of the mini truck.
Woman mowed down
A 50-year-old woman was mowed down by a speeding car on the Singasandra Main Road on Tuesday morning.
Muniratnamma, a housewife, was on her way to a relative’s house. She was knocked down by a speeding car, when she was crossing the road.
The car driver, a software engineer, rushed her to a nearby private hospital.
However, she succumbed to her injuries by late afternoon.
