AI air hostess moves NCW

“I have come before the NCW seeking justice. I also want justice from AI management,” a weeping 24-year-old air hostess told reporters as she came out of the NCW office.
The air hostess has filed a case of molestation against the two pilots of the Sharjah-Lucknow-Delhi AI flight IC 884. An inquiry by the AI as well as the Delhi Police is on. The cockpit and cabin crew were involved in a mid-air scuffle as a result of which the air hostess allegedly suffered bruises.

The NCW has formed a committee to probe the charges of assault levelled by the air hostess against the pilots. The air hostess had filed a formal complaint with the women’s panel.

NCW Chairperson Girija Vyas said: “She came here and sat with me for six hours. She has filed a complaint with me. We have written to Air India to enquire into the matter and have also informed them about the Supreme Court guidelines on sexual harassment at the workplace. We have formed a committee to probe the incident.”

The alleged victim has received support from another air hostess who said an angry commander Ranbir Arora abused the air hostess and Amit Khanna, the flight purser.
According to reports, when the pilots were scolding the air hostess other air crew members, allegedly, led by Amit Khanna, sprang to her defence, leading to a brawl mid-air.
