Solution to garbage crisis in a week's time: Shettar

Chief Minister Jagadish Shettar has promised to find a solution to the garbage problem in Bangalore in a week’s time.

Steps have already been initiated in this regard, he said while addressing a meeting of deputy commissioners and zilla panchayat chief executive officers in Bangalore on Monday.  His assurance comes in the wake of the High Court’s warning to supersede the BBMP over its inability to tackle garbage crisis.

He directed the officials to take appropriate measures before similar problem arises in tier-II cities like Mysore and Hubli-Dharwad.

The chief minister was all praise for the Health Department officials for successfully checking bird flu in Bangalore Rural district.
