NEET notification stayed

A Division Bench of the High Court headed by Justice N Kumar issued a stay on the  notification for the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET).

The Medical Council of India had issued notification in February this year for the NEET exam to be conducted across the country for undergraduate and postgraduate admissions to medical colleges. Karnataka had opted to comply with NEET from 2013, seeking a year’s time for preparations.

Stating that the new exam draws heavily from the CBSE syllabus, making it tough for students from the State Board, a petition was filed by two students from Mysore, Rakshith and Ankitha. The Division Bench on Thursday issued the stay after hearing the petition of the students.
