Bharatiya Janata Party spokesperson and Rajya Sabha MP Prakash Javadekar spoke at length on the party’s preparedness in the run up to Lok Sabha poll 2014 in an interview with Dalip Singh:

How well is the BJP prepared for the coming elections in states like Gujarat, Karnataka and Rajasthan?

We are very well prepared. We have a different strategy for each state. We are very well disposed in Gujarat and will win more seats. In Karnataka, despite internal differences, we are very sure the voters belong to BJP. I hope Yeddyurappa will rething before taking the plunge.

But the former Karnataka CM is blaming BJP president Nitin Gadkari and senior leader Anant Kumar?

If you want to speak only about Karnataka I will not talk … but I will tell you about other poll bound states of Meghalaya and Arunachal Pradesh. In Arunachal, we are doing well and might unseat Congress.

Rahul Gandhi is heading the  2014 poll campaign. Do you suspect a snap poll?

The BJP is ready to face election any time but I’m not sure if polls will happen before 2014. The Congress uses, abuses and misuses the CBI to s manage numbers. But, people don’t want Congress now.

Will NDA broad base its alliance before 2014 polls?

We are in touch with parties…at the right time there will be more players. Some will join after polls.

Both BJP and Congress are losing credibility, strengthening regional parties?

BJP and Congress are only two national parties. In the UPA, Congress is No. 1,so is BJP in the NDA. It has 115 MPs  and JDU has about 20…the election will produce a decisive result in our favour.
