Rowdy stabs constable

 A rowdy stabbed a constable attached to the JJ Nagar police station on Railway Tank bund Road at Goripalya Monday evening.

On receiving information that two miscreants were hatching a plot to assault and rob people in the area with lethal weapons, Assistant Sub Inspector Cheluvaiah and constable Prakash rushed to the spot.

As they tried to apprehend the two suspects, one of them fled the scene. The other, Manjunath alias Manja, stabbed Prakash in the stomach. Cheluvaiah, too sustained minor injuries. All the three, including the accused, have been shifted to Victoria Hospital. While Cheluvaiah has been discharged, Prakash is being treated as an in-patient.
