SC seeks clarification on 2G sale

The Supreme Court on Tuesday asked the centre to Clarify if another round of auction for spectrum of 2G licences, cancelled by it, was scheduled to be held in March 2013, saying that it might have its own complications.

The court also wanted the telecom companies, whose licences it had cancelled earlier, but were allowed to operate due to delay in holding fresh auction, to pay for using radiowaves at current rates.  “Your affidavit has not specified any particular time for this. We must tell you that it may lead to some complications,” the court said.
