'Manufacturing sector should focus on value'

Addressing secondary waste and practicing lean management process is the need of the hour, if India wants to become a global leader in manufacturing, speakers at the Annual Manufacturing Conference 2012, organised by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) with a theme ‘Maximising Cost Competitiveness in Turbulent Times’ said.

According to Eicher Motors Chairman and Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) President S Sandilya, “We need to focus on lean management, not just lean manufacturing. We should practice lean as a concept. Increasing value to all the stakeholders, not just for the customers is needed.”
