Higher Education Minister C T Ravi has said that blackmail tactics of the Congress has worked in the exit of former Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa from the BJP.

Speaking to presspersons here on Saturday, he said “Yeddyurappa has quit the BJP with heavy heart. Yeddyurappa’s exit has hurt me personally. There was a hidden agenda behind his exit. The truth of Congress threatening Yeddyurappa and the venue where he was threatened will be revealed shortly.”

Stating that it was a tragedy that the person who was stating that regional parties do not have any future has come forward to float a regional party, Ravi said thta a few opportunists might win from the KJP ticket in the Assembly election. “A few are supporting him to get a political mileage. However, Yeddyurappa will feel dejected soon,” Ravi said.

He said “Yeddyurappa was a Jana Sangha worker three and half years ago. He did not have money and muscle power then. The BJP has given him power and status.

Senior leaders like D M Mallikarjunaiah and B B Shivappa were not given any posts in the party. However, Yeddyurappa had enjoyed highest power in the state politics. After enjoying power, it is sad on his part to tell that the BJP has done injustice to him,” he said.
