<p>The Karnataka government on Tuesday notified the draft list of reservation of wards for various categories for holding elections to Urban Local Bodies (ULBs), including seven city corporations.<br /><br /></p>.<p>The census data of 2001 has been utilised for drawing up the list as the 2011 census figures will be notified only in March 2013.<br /><br />The term of most of the 209 ULBs and the seven city corporations will end by February-March next year.<br /><br />50 per cent reservation<br /><br />According to the guidelines issued for drawing up the list, reservation for women has been increased from 33 per cent to 50 per cent.<br /><br /> The reservation for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes has been arrived at on the basis of their population, it said. The list has been uploaded on the website www.uddkar.gov.in <br /><br />Objections<br /><br />Objections, if any, need to be filed within seven days. The State Election Commission had moved the High Court of Karnataka, seeking a direction to the government to provide the list of reservation of wards to facilitate the election process.<br /><br />The court had directed the State government to complete the process at the earliest.<br /></p>
