<p>Four law students of Jamia Millia Islamia have been arrested for gang raping a 16-year-old girl at a house in south Delhi’s Defence Colony.<br /><br /></p>.<p>Pulkit Chaudhary, Amandeep, Sharad Shekhar Tomar and Rupansoo were held on Monday. According to police, an investigation was taken up after the victim’s mother approached Defence Colony police station.<br /><br />“She reported that her daughter, a class 11 student, had not returned home after attending school on September 15,” a police official said.<br /><br />Initially, a case of kidnapping was lodged. However, there was no trace of the girl and no call for ransom was made to her family at Sadiq Nagar.<br /><br />On November 29, the girl met a constable and told him that she had been kept confined at a house in Defence Colony. The constable took her to a lady constable, to whom the teenaged rape victim narrated her trauma in chilling detail.<br /><br />“She claimed that she had fled from home with a friend named Amit and had been <br />living with him at a flat in Defence Colony, but he ditched her after some time,” the official added. <br /><br />The victim continued to stay at the flat, where one of the accused later met her posing as a policeman.<br /><br />The man was their neighbour and threatened her of police action for over the live-in arrangement. <br /><br />Confined her<br /><br />He then took her to his house and raped her. He kept her confined there and later his friends took turns to sexually assault her.<br /><br />The victim claimed that she was abused and beaten up on a regular basis, but managed to escape late in November.<br /><br />On the basis of her statement, police conducted a raid at the flat and nabbed Pulkit, Amandeep, Sharad and Rupansoo.<br /><br />They were produced before Saket court on Monday and sent to two day’s in police custody. Police had sought their custodial interrogation to make more arrest in the case. <br /></p>
