JOIN USThe Delhi division of the Northern Railway has started a special SMS service for giving information about the status of trains operating from five major stations in the City.
Passengers can avail this service to check arrival and departure timings. The SMS service can be availed to know about the status of trains operating from New Delhi, Delhi Junction, Hazrat Nizamuddin, Anand Vihar Terminal and Delhi Serai Rohilla.
“Apart from enquiry from telephone number 139, an additional number has been started for SMS-based train enquiry system. Passengers can SMS the five-digit train number to 9717631813. The passenger will be duly informed about the arrival and departure of trains by an SMS instantly,” a Northern Railway official said.
The official said a dedicated number, 011-23747110, has been provided for obtaining information about status of the train from five major stations.
Almost all trains operating in North India run behind the schedule due to fog. The Northern Railway has already cancelled over a dozen of long distance trains to keep other trains on schedule.
