<p>Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) overcame a tough challenge from Army Service Corps (ASC) to register a thrilling 17-25, 25-19, 20-25, 25-19, 15-13 win in their second-phase match of the inaugural Karnataka Volley League (KVL) at the Sree Kanteerava stadium on Friday. <br /><br /></p>.<p>BSNL, on account of their two points from this match, have 11 points from four matches while ASC, who earned a point for stretching the game to the fifth set, have eight points from four games. <br /><br />Sunil and Jithu Thomas turned on the heat with their power-packed smashes that propelled ASC to a 12-4 lead. <br /><br />ASC held the upper hand throughout and eventually bagged the set 25-17. <br /><br />In the second set, BSNL got their act together with Ravi Kumar and Anup D’Costa combining well to cause problems for ASC as BSNL went ahead 16-11. before claiming the set 25-19.<br /> <br />In the third set, tt was BSNL, however, who raced to a 10-3 lead before ASC clawed their way back to level scores at 17-17. C K Swamy and Arun A V produced some fine smashes as the Army-outfit took the set 25-20. <br /><br />Sujith and D’Costa were in sizzling form garnering point-winning smashes for BSNL as they built a six-point lead at 18-12.
