The organised crime unit of Central Crime Branch (CCB) on Friday claimed to have solved the murder case of rowdy-sheeter Shivakumar alias Rudra with the arrest of seven persons. On December 9, Shivakumar was hacked to death in his car at Chikkanahalli Road in Electronics City.
The City Police Commissioner, Jyotiprakash Mirji said “This is a retaliation attack. Last year, Shivakumar was suspected of killing Velu, the elder brother Shanmugam alias sun, an accused in present case. However four months ago Shivakumar was acquitted by the court.”
But Shanmugam (30) along with another Velu (30), Ramesh (25), Ranjith (28), Karthik (28), Saravana (35) and Armugam (29) plotted the murder of Shivakumar, he added.
The accused started following Shivakumar from the day he was released from jail. They also rented out a house near Shivakumar’s house to observe his routine. Four others — Chander, Charles, Shriram and Chetan, all residents of Banasavadi are accomplice in the murder but absconding.
