Vedike to start letter campaign to demand title deeds

 It has been decided to collect 10,000 signatures to CM demanding for the same.
A press release from Chinnappa said that cabinet has already agreed to give title deeds to cultivator of ‘Bagahar Hukum’ land and this decision only awaits Governor’s nod. After Governor gives his consent, Government will be pressurised to form Land Allotment Committees and hand over the land to the cultivator.

Statistics
In the state there are about 6.5 lakh families cultivating 16.50 lakh acre of bagahar hukum lands and in the district it is about 2.18 lakh acre. Over 77,178 applications have been sent under Form No 50 and 53 to authorise these lands. Of these 7,554 people have been allotted 13311.33 acre land while applications of 32,542 have been rejected. Further 37,082 applications with regard to 108470.14 acre land is yet to be settled.

He said that in the past it was B S Yeddyurappa who had held a padayathra demanding rights for the cultivator of Bagahar Hukum land in Shikaripura. Now that he is the CM of the state he should pay attention towards these cultivator and grant them rights over the land.
