District admn gearing up for Rajyotsava celebration

A meeting in this connection was chaired by the Deputy Commissioner K H Ashwathanarayana Gowda at the Old Vidhana Sabhangana here on Monday. DC directed all officials to take necessary steps to make the event successful. Separate sub-committees were formed and responsibilities were handed over for the smooth conduct of the programme. 

DC said that the government may send direction with regard to the mode of celebrations in the wake recent flood in North Karnaataka. However, we should be ready to celebrate the Rajyotsava with all preparations like in the past, he added.
DC directed presidents of all sub committees to submit a report on Rajyotsava celebration before October 21.

Assistant Commissioner Akram Pasha said that while a procession will start from the Fort premises on November 1 at 7.30 am, a stage programme will be held at the Man’s Compound.  Superintendent of Police Manjunath Annigeri, Additional Deputy Commissioner Chandregowda, Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Officer Mirza Akbarulla, DySP J D Prakash and other officials were present.
