Bettanagere Shankara's men held

Plans by associates of the notorious rowdy Bettanagere Shankara to rob and murder a realtor were thwarted after Central Crime Branch sleuths raided the gang in Kareemsaab Layout and arrested eight men.

Muniraju alias Muni, Abhishek alias Abhi, Nagaraju alias Naga, Anantraju alias Ananta, B Anand alias Bar, Hanumanth Kumar alias Huskoor, Manjunath alias Manja, and Rudresh alias Rudra, are the arrested.

Police have seized a car, a goods auto, a bike, three mobile phones and lethal weapons from the arrested. Investigations revealed that they were acting on instructions of Shankara, who is currently in prison.

Police added that the gang had previously threatened businessmen involved in land deals around Nelamanagala and often extorted money from them.

Another gang arrested

In another incident, CCB sleuths raided a location in HSR Layout and apprehended four associates of rowdy Arasaiah, currently in Hindalaga Central Prison. Arun Kumar alias Talakai, Prakash, Pradeep alias Gunda, and Vijay Patil alias Patil, are the arrested.

Weapons and two motorcycles have been confiscated from the gang and a case has been registered at HSR Layout police station. Police said the gang, on the orders of Arasaiah, had been planning to rob a businessman and kill him.
