JOIN USCPI(M) State Secretary G V Sriram Reddy said that the BJP government is the most despotic government that the State has ever seen. He added that Jagdish Shettar and his ministers should resign immediately and go for fresh public mandate.
Speaking to the media persons, Reddy accused the government of betraying the members of the public. The government has no majority and obviously it deserves no legal rights as per Constitutional law to continue in power. The resignation tendered by 13 KJP MLAs and ministers has put the government in trouble. The BJP government has tried all sorts of illegal strategies to deceive public and stay in power.
The most prominent among them is that the BJP misusing the chair of Speaker for selfish gains. This shows the deteriorating values among BJP leaders. Earlier, it was the Speaker who was made scapegoat and compelled to accept the resignation of Sriramalu and now yet again the Speaker is the puppet in the hands of BJP leaders. He was sent to Nepal in order to stop KJP ministers and MLAs resignations, he alleged.
Alleging that the Governor’s behaviour also raises suspicions over his political approach, Reddy said that the Governor should immediately accept the resignations and direct BJP government to prove its majority on the floor of the house before presentation of the budget. He said that the BJP which has only 105 members following the resignation of the MLAs and ministers. The BJP has maligned the sacredness of Legislature by unethical advances. It is fascist party and will go to any extent to continue in power, he ridiculed.
Stating that the CPI(M) wants to name the proposed university to be set up in Srirangapatna by central government after Tipu, Reddy said Tipu is not an Islam fundamentalist. He is truly a nationalist who sacrificed his life for the country.
He never supported any fundamentalist actions. The proposed university is for minorities and not only for Muslims. He ridiculed that the RSS fundamentalism expects wrong in all good things.
These RSS leaders believe researcher Chidanandamurthy’s findings to be genuine. Sarcastically, his research findings are absolutely false and there are no authentic evidences for the claims made by Chidanandamurthy against Tipu.
He has patronised the Sringeri mutt and helped people there to reconstruct the mutt, following its demolition by Hindu rulers of Maharashtra.
He owed his kids to Britishers to save his country. Reddy defied RSS leaders to give one example of such patriotic personality in RSS. Ridiculing Pejawar mutt seer Sri Vishweshatheertha Swamiji for his dual behaviour, Reddy said Pejawar seer should reinvent himself in certain aspects. He should dare to discuss the issues like “Pankthi Bedha” in public, he added and said the fight against both evil practices “Made Snana” and “Pankthi Bedha” will be launched all over the state.
He said he has spoken to Chief Minister Jagdish Shettar over lati-charge incident and has demanded an inquiry and suspension of the police officers involved in it. However, the government is not in a position to take any action as the government itself is in trouble, he ridiculed.
