Teen kidnapped, raped for 11 days

Abductor held, hunt on for woman aide

An 18-year-old was was allegedly kidnapped by her former landlord's son, kept confined for 11 days and repeatedly raped.

Thirty-year-old Naushad, a resident of Jawahar Park in east Delhi, was arrested on Wednesday after police conducted raids at possible hideouts, said a police officer.

The victim, a resident of Laxmi Nagar, told police that when she went to a medical store on January 23, she found Naushad there,

On the pretext of talking to her about her family problems, Naushad took her to his car.  After driving around with her for about 30 minutes, he brought her to an unknown location, the victim said in her statement to police.

A woman present at that house offered the two some soft drinks. Naushad told the girl that the woman was a friend’s relative.

After taking the drink, the girl said she fell unconscious. When she regained senses, she found herself locked in a room. Naushad allegedly raped her for 11 days. His woman accomplice stayed in the next room.

“She tried her best to run away but  every time she failed,” police said, quoting the victim.

Both Naushad and the woman threatened her with dire consequences.

Last Sunday, they dumped her near Laxmi Nagar. She went home and narrated the incident to her family who immediately approached Shakarpur police station.

On the basis of the victim’s statement and a medical test, police registered a case of kidnapping and rape.

Naushad was traced near his house.  After interrogation, he was produced before a court, said a police officer. The woman accomplice is still evading arrest.
