Batting by choice, Trinidad amassed 213 for four, the highest total in the Champions League so far, with opener Adrian Barath leading the way with a fifty. Diamond Eagles ended up at 189.

Trinidad, so far unbeaten in the competition, entered the semifinals as toppers from Group ‘A’ with six points.

Trinidad started their innings in an explosive manner adding 64 without loss in the Power Play, and that set the tone not only for their innings but for the entire night. On a pitch that remained true for the entire duration, batsmen from both the sides dished out entertaining cricket much to the delight of a reasonable turn out.

After adding 66 for the first wicket with William Perkins, Adrian Barath got involved in a second wicket partnership with Lendl Simmons to milk 76 runs off a mere 47 balls, spurring the West Indian side to 147 for two in 15 overs. The late order batsmen, led by Kieron Pollard and Navin Stewart, then took them past the 200-run mark.

Stewart’s 33 also included an amazing hit out against Dillon du Preez -- 6, 6, 4, 6, 4 amounting to 26 runs in five balls.
