JOIN US February 14 which is celebrated as St Valentine’s Day across the world turned out to be memorable for the 32 couples who tied the nuptial knot on Thursday.
The couples who entered into wedlock included the daughter of local MLA K M Shivalingegowda at a mass marriage ceremony held at Jenukal stadium here.
The MLA who grabbed the attention of the people by arranging a mass marriage during the wedding of his elder daughter arranged a similar wedding for his younger daughter too on Thursday.
Rudramuni swamiji of Tiptur Shadakshari mutt, Karivrushaba Deshikendra Shivacharya Swamiji of Nonavinakere Kadu Siddeshwara Mutt, Shambunath swamiji of Adichunchanagiri Hassan branch mutt, Rudramuni swamiji of Madalu Niranjan Peetha, Jnanaprabhu Siddarama Deshikendra Shivacharya swamiji of Yalanodu mutt and other religious heads participated in the ceremony and blessed the couples.
A couple belonging to a Muslim community too got married on the occasion according to their tradition and was the centre of attraction.
Out of the 32 couples, five belonged to Scheduled Caste and Shivlingegowda’s daughter S Shubashri wedded Sunil of Hassan at the ceremony.
More than 15,000 people were witness to the wedding. As the crowd was more than expected there was a little confusion during the lunch. Apart from this, the whole ceremony was managed in an efficient way, according to sources.
