The deceased are Sindhu (16), daughter of Dasappa, and Pratap (6), son of Muniyappa, residents of Tambarlahalli village. The incident occurred when Sindhu was washing clothes in the Jayamangala lake on Sunday and Pratap accidentally slipped into the lake. Bethamangala SI Ashwath Narayana said that in a bid to rescue Pratap, Sindhu also jumped into the lake and both of them drowned.
