The MoU which was signed on Friday is aimed at inculcating competitiveness and growth among the State’s public enterprises.
Union Secretary, Department of Public Enterprises, Ministry of Heavy Industry and Public Enterprises, Bhaskar Chatterjee said this provision has existed for two decades, but it was only in the last five years that the idea was mooted. He appreciated Karnataka for being the first State to take steps to bring about this MoU.
He also said that the MoU would bring about greater autonomy, leadership and provide a level playing field, which would lead to improved performance.
