Mock CET counselling at Hubli and Gulbarga

The new method will cut down students expense on travelling and accommodation

More than 1.2 lakh students have appeared for the test aspiring to get admissions to the medical, dental and engineering courses in government institutions.
The State, as an initiative had announced to conduct CET counselling in two other cities viz Hubli and Gulbarga for the benefit of students from North Karnataka.
Along with the counselling in the KEA premises in Bangalore, the counselling will also held at these two cities.  KEA is all set to conduct mock trials at the two new counselling centres.
On the mock trials, KEA official said, “The testing of the entire set up at Hubli and Gulbarga will begin from Monday. A team of computer engineers from National Informatics Centre (NIC),  technicians from Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) and officers from KEA will begin the tests at both the centres. The trials will ensure that the entire system will be efficient during the counselling process”.
According to the official, if a student from Hubli selects a seat, it will be immediately updated and displayed on the common screen facilitating the seat selection to candidates from Bangalore or Gulbarga. Each year more than 30 per cent of the candidates who take up CET are from the North Karnataka.

Panacea for students

The new method of counselling is a panacea as the counselling at the two centres, will cut down on the travelling and accommodation expenses of the students.
CBSE, ICSE results: Although the ICSE Class XII results are slated to be announced on May 20, the CBSE class XII results appears to be delayed. The KEA has decided to go ahead with the announcement of CET results as scheduled. As and when the CBSE results will be announced, spot rankings will be provided to the students said the official.
