JOIN USThe Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike's (BBMP) drum beating drive in front of the offices of property tax defaulters got a boost on Friday with the members of the Palike’s standing committee on Taxation and Finance leading the campaign.
The target of Palike's drum beating drive was Vrindavan Tech Village, which has defaulted taxes of Rs 35 crore since 2008-09. Taxation and Finance Committee chairperson K A Muneendra Kumar and other members led the rally to Tech Village holding a banner, which had details of the arrears the defaulter has to pay. Since 2008-09 the company owed Rs 23 crore to the Palike as property tax.
With interest and penalty, the dues total to Rs 35 crore.
The Committee members informed the defaulter to clear all the dues or else face legal action including the attaching of the property. Vrindavan Tech Village, spread across 90 acres and 11 guntas, houses 13 firms.
