Speaking after inaugurating Srirama Progressive Farmers Club at Subbagundlahalli in the taluk recently, he said that farmers can improve their financial condition through organised efforts. He said that instead of depending on banking institutions for credit facility, the farmers can obtain loans from Farmers Clubs themselves. However, the Clubs will have to be made financially strong bodies, he opined.
Assistant General Manager of Canara Bank, V J Antony, who presided over the function said that the farming community should reduce dependence in order to achieve economic prosperity. Farmers should become self-sustained and towards this end, they should promote their own organisations.
Branch Manager C Manohar, president of Sri Rama Progressive Farmers Club Manjaunatha Reddy and others were present.
