<p>Bhartiya Janata Party MP Varun Gandhi was on Tuesday acquitted in the second hate speech case by a local court in Uttar Pradesh's Pilibhit district for want of evidence.<br /><br /></p>.<p>The case pertained to alleged hate speech by Varun Gandhi during the 2009 Lok Sabha elections at his election meetings at Pilibhit.<br /><br />A district court had already acquitted him in another hate speech case pertaining to the same period last month for lack of evidence against him.<br /><br />The prosecution had produced several witnesses to buttress its contention. Some local scribes too had deposed in the case. <br /><br />Varun had been charged with delivering inflammatory speech during campaigning in Pilibhit on March 7, 2009. <br /></p>
