Agri varsity admissions to be made through CET

Last Updated 06 March 2013, 18:34 IST

This year’s state Common Entrance Test (CET) will provide the students an array of agriculture-related courses to choose from.

This will include bachelor’s degree (BSc) courses in agriculture, horticulture, veterinary, sericulture, forestry, agriculture marketing, agriculture engineering, dairy and fisheries.

From this year, the CET to be conducted by the Karnataka Examination Authority is mandatory for admissions to courses offered by University of Agricultural Sciences, Bangalore, Raichur and Dharwad; Karnataka Veterinary, Animal and Fisheries Sciences University, Bidar and University of Horticultural Sciences, Bagalkot. Presently, students seeking admissions to these varsities have to apply separately to each university.

The universities have now brought their entrance tests under the CET. Students can opt for the exam they wish  while filling the application form. The counselling will be conducted on the same lines as that of the engineering or medical courses.
