Singh told presspersons here that Raja, hailing from Mangalore, was involved in nearly 100 cases in Karnataka and Maharashtra, including at least 10 murders and a number of extortion cases. Raja had fled to the Middle East more than five years ago after police mounted a search to nab him. He was arrested in the first week of this month when he was trying to fly out of Dubai on a fake passport. The DGP said the State police were confident of bringing the don back to the state for their investigation.

“Once the Dubai authorities complete investigation,we will be able to get him deported. We have taken the help of Interpol, seeking issue of a Red Corner alert against the don,” he added.
