<p>Former director-general (DG) of Odisha police B B Mohanty, father of rape convict Bitihotra “Bitti” Mohanty, remained elusive following his son’s arrest on Saturday. All attempts by local journalists to contact Mohanty at his Cuttack residence went in vain.<br /><br /></p>.<p>Soon after the dramatic arrest of Bitti local journalists rushed to his CDA residence, only to be told by a housekeeper that the retired officer left for an undisclosed location on Saturday morning. Other members of the family were also not available for comment.<br />However, some journalists managed to contact one of Mohanty’s relatives, who said Bitti was an “innocent boy” who was “framed.”</p>
