Indian rap song garners higher 'like ratio' than 'Gangnam Style' on YouTube

His debut rap song 'Talk it out', about the value of civil debate, became a YouTube sensation and now British-Indian Abhaey Singh is looking forward to take the best of Indian content to the West by producing TV shows and films.

Abhaey's rap song received over a million views on YouTube shortly after being uploaded, with a higher 'like ratio' than the global hit 'Gangnam Style'.

The young entrepreneur, who has no formal training in music, has arranged, written, composed and conceptualised the video which also doubles up as a promotional video for his Indian Debating Union (IDU).

"We had to propagate this message of civil debate which says that all the problems that we have in our democracy can be sorted out through polite debate. Our Indian Debating Union has been working on it but the song has taken it to a larger audience," Abhaey said.

'Talk It Out' is the first song to be released as part of Abhaey's debut music album 'Salvo!', produced by his independent music label, Kauzala Music.

Other songs in the album, which is to be released in its entirety later this year, are sung by Asha Bhosle, Richa Sharma, Sukhwinder Singh and Neeti Mohan.

Abhaey is now looking forward to establish a socially-focussed entertainment model by producing films and TV content.

"Entertainment should be inclusive. My other aim is to get involved in the entertainment business. There are many good people doing well it in India. My horizon is global. I want to take the best of Indian content and sensibilities abroad," he added.
