A farmer, who had come to the City from Pune for training at the Indian Institute of Horticultural Research (IIHR), Hesaraghatta, was killed when he was knocked down by a speeding bike on Wednesday evening.
The deceased has been identified as Indrajith Pawar, 45, from a village near Pune in Maharashtra. On Wednesday evening, he along with his friend Sanjay Kashinath, also from the same village, had gone to a saloon.
On their way back to the institute, a speeding bike knocked him down near T B Cross at Hesaraghatta. Though the bike rider fell down, he recovered soon and fled the scene.
Pawar was immediately rushed to a nearby private hospital with head injuries. But he was declared brought dead.
