He was speaking at the second convocation ceremony of Mandya Institute of Medical Sciences.<br /><br /></p>.<p>Lamenting over the trend of doctors preferring to serve in foreign nations, he said: “The government is spending crores of rupees to provide facilities for students in medical colleges. But, the students do not wish to serve in government hospitals.”<br /><br />A total of 101 students were presented with their convocation certificates at the ceremony. Dr Sowmya Shingal won Patel Sathanur Kalegowda and Thayamma gold medal and Dr Chikklingegowda gold medal. <br /><br />She is also the top scorer in physiology, pharmacology and forensics.<br /></p>
