No increase in retirement age: UP govt

Last Updated 18 March 2013, 18:50 IST

Uttar Pradesh government on Monday said it has no plans to increase the retirement age of its employees from 60 years. The appointment age has been increased to 40 years so that the employees get full benefits like gratuity.

“Increasing the retirement age would harm the rights of educated unemployed. It is right that those joining service at the age of 40 get lesser time, but there is no plan to increase the retirement age,” said parliamentary affairs minister Azam Khan.

The minister, in reply to a question by Dharampal Singh of BSP on government’s plan on checking cyber crime, said it was difficult to check those starting from foreign land.

Akhilesh Kumar Singh of Peace Party said his complaint about fake Facebook accounts and posting matter against the CM, SP chief and others on it could not be solved by the unit in Lucknow.
