Geologist in Lokayukta net

A geologist working in District Mines and Geology Department was caught red handed by Lokayukta sleuths while receiving a bribe of Rs 4,500 for the renewal of the license of sand mining.

Lokayukta Inspector P I Dinesh told Deccan Herald that the accused S N Girish Mohan working in District Mines and Geology Department in DC Office had demanded a sum of Rs 4,500 from one Sandeep Kotyan for renewing the sand mining license. Following the complaint by Sandeep Kotyan, the Lokayukta sleuths immediately reached the spot and arrested  the geologist while receiving the bribe. Besides, excess amount of Rs 46,000 that was available in his office has also been seized. Inquiry is also done over the excess amount, he added.
