<p>The Silicon Valley of India, Bangalore, has emerged as the fourth largest e-commerce hub in the country, preceeded by Delhi, Mumbai and Jaipur, said a report released on Wednesday.<br /><br /></p>.<p>eBay India census 2012 was based on an analysis of all online buying and selling transactions by Indians on eBay between July 1, 2011 and December 31, 2012.<br /><br />The survey revealed that online shopping is now mainstream and has become a nationwide phenomenon. India has over 4,306 e-commerce hubs, an increase of 30 per cent from last year.<br /><br />Top five states with most transactions were Maharashtra, Delhi, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka. Top-ranked brand in Bangalore was Samsung, followed by Apple and Sony; top exported items were natural diamonds, crafts yarn and movie DVDs.<br /><br />eBay Head (Marketplace Experience) Santosh J Rao said, “Now e-commerce is not only a urban phenomenon, even rural India has started going online for shopping. That is because a lot of products they want are unavailable in local stores.”</p>
