The lead-up to the season has been anything but promising, Karnataka coming a cropper in the South Zone T20 tournament in Visakhapatnam last month.

There were more problems off the field as well that have been well documented, but now that the air has been cleared and the State selectors have withdrawn their resignations, it is expected that cricket will surge to the forefront.

Karnataka will be buoyed by the availability of Rahul Dravid for the first two matches, though the second fixture ends in Delhi on November 13, just three days prior to the first Test against Sri Lanka starting in Ahmedabad on November 16.

There are few surprises in the jumbo 35-member squad, formed on the basis of performances last season in the Ranji Trophy, as well as during the Karnataka Premier League and the Vizag tournament.

Interestingly, though, the captain that will lead Karnataka’s charge for an elusive title has yet to be named. The suspense continues!

List of probables: Rahul Dravid, Robin Uthappa, Sunil Joshi, VS Thilak Naidu, NC Aiyappa, R Vinay Kumar, Deepak Chougule, B Akhil, KB Pawan, C Raghu, Devraj Patil, Ganesh Satish, Raju Bhatkal, Udit Patel, Sunil Raju, KP Appanna, C Raghavendra, Vinu Narayanan, CB Karthik, CM Gautam, Amit Verma, S Aravind, A Mithun, Manish Pandey, KL Rahul, Aditya Sagar, Karun Nair, Ryan Ninan, Mayank Agarwal, Kunal Kapoor, Stuart Binny, DV Anish, Mithun Beerala, R Jonathan, Abrar Kazi. Coach: K Sanath Kumar. Assistant coach: Somashekar Shiraguppi.
