ISEC, BU ink MoU for talent search

BU Registrar T R Subramanya and ISEC Registrar Col Ashutosh Dhar signed the agreement for 10 years renewable after the expiry period.

Under the social science talent search programme, a committee comprising senior faculty members from BU and ISEC would identify talented students pursuing graduation in rural colleges of the State and offer them scholarships  for pursuing graduation courses in art disciplines.

Both institutions would collaborate mutually in academic events, teaching, training and research. The pact encompassed exchange of students and faculty members between two institutes. PhD students of ISEC would also be jointly supervised by faculty members of both institutions. Both institutions would not charge any affiliation fee towards the PhD programme and research work, Prof Prabhudev, vice-chancellor of Bangalore University said.

ISEC is a national institute for inter-disciplinary research and training in Social Sciences established in 1972 by the late Professor V K R V Rao. It is registered as a Society under the Karnataka Societies Registration Act, 1960, to create a blend of field-oriented empirical research and advances in social science theories leading to better public policy formulation.
