'M G Hegde, Nagaraj Shetty have pact with other party'

Last Updated 27 March 2013, 19:24 IST

Karnataka JD(S) Vice President Sushil Noronha alleged that M G Hegde and B Nagaraj Shetty, who reportedly resigned from JD(S), have internal agreements with some other political party and it will come to know soon.

Addressing a press conference on Tuesday, Noronha said that the duo who said to have resigned to protest against recent suspension of the party’s district minority cell chief D M Aslam and district general secretary Shashiraj Shetty, always tried to split the party and hurt the feelings of sincere party workers.

“These people never contributed to the party’s development. Nagaraj Shetty announced that he will be leading the party in Dakshina Kannada district which was never a truth.

He even shifted the party office to Falnir, but he could not put a single candidate in Kodialbail which is his own constituency,” Noronha said.

Mangalore City Corporation Member Azees Kudroli claimed that Hegde or Shetty didn’t work for the party during ULB polls.

“We have won two seats because of party image or by the impression created by the candidates,” he opined.

Meanwhile, JD(S) leaders expressed their soft corner towards Sadananda Shetty. “He is hurt by the internal clashes.

Sadananda Shetty can still be our candidate from Mangalore South Assembly constituency,” he said. To a query on the role of Party District President M B Sadashiva in solving the difference of opinion between the leaders, he said that State leaders will take decisions.

JD(S) National Committee Member Hyder Partippadi, District JD(S) Vice President Ramakrishna Shetty, South Vidhansabha President Gopalakrishna Attavar, District Organising Secretary Muneer Mukkaccheri, District JD(S) Secretary Srinivas Alva were also present.
