<p> BJP MLC Mohan Limbikai submitted his resignation to Council chairperson D H Shankaramurthy on Monday. He is set to contest the Assembly elections from the Hubli-Dharwad West seat on a KJP ticket. Limbikai has been an ardent follower of KJP chief B S Yeddyurappa.<br /><br />The resignation has been accepted with immediate effect. Limbikai had entered the Upper House by defeating senior Congress leader H K Patil in the Karnataka West Graduates’ Constituency in 2008. He had tenure till June 2014. <br /><br />Another MLC and Yeddyurappa loyalist Shivaraj Sajjan is expected to resign and join the KJP in the next couple of days. The BJP had recently filed a petition before Shankaramurthy against Limbikai, Sajjan and four other MLCs, seeking their disqualification for their alleged anti-party activities. </p>.<p>The petition was under process and so far no action had been initiated by Shankaramurthy. <br />Sajjan will become the third MLC to quit the BJP and join the KJP. </p>
