Youth killed in road rage

Somashekhar, 25, a resident of Parangipalya, was killed in a road rage in HSR Layout on Tuesday evening.

Employed at a provision store, Somashekar was attacked by a motorbike rider following a tiff over a trivial issue. Somashekhar and his friends Manju and Harish were walking along the road, when the biker, identified by his friends as Avinash, in his 20s, and a resident of the area, came close to knocking Somashekhar down. Police said Soma­s­h­e­khar hurled abuses at the rider who took a ‘U’ turn to engage in a verbal duel with him.

When it went out of hand, the rider in a rage picked up a wooden log lying nearby smacking Somashekhar on the head and fleeing from the scene as Somashekhar collapsed. Though he was rushed to a hospital, he was declared br­o­u­g­ht dead.
HSR Layout police have registered a murder case.
