Four candidates filed their nomination papers, on Monday, from Bangarpet constituency.
While K M Narayanswamy filed the nomination papers from Congress, legislator M Narayanswamy filed the nominations from BJP. Similarly, Kalavanchi Venkatesh from BSR Congress and V Seshu from KJP filed their nominations.
Before filing the nomination papers, Congress candidate K M Narayanswamy was taken out in a procession by his supporters. Prior to this, the leader accompanied by his family members paid respects at Ganesha temple, a dargah and a church. Later, the procession which began at the open air theatre travelled through the main streets and reached the taluk office at around 12: 30 pm, where he submitted the nomination papers.
After submitting the nomination papers, he addressed people who had gathered at the open air theatre and said: “ People should reject the corrupt BJP government and vote the Congress to power, as it is dedicated to the welfare of poor.”
Whereas BJP legislator M Narayanswamy amidst immense support submitted his nomination papers for the second time.
The police had a tough time containing supporters of both the Congress and the BJP leaders.
