Pedestrian run over

» A 56-year-old pedestrian was run over by a KSRTC bus near Kengeri satellite bus stop on Mysore Road, Monday late night. Police have given the name of the deceased as  Nandish Shetty, a resident of Bapujinagar and a native of Nagamangala taluk. Nandish was heading home when the accident occurred at  about 11.50 pm.

Fire accident

»Fire broke out in an electronic showroom on 8 'B' Main, 30th Cross, Jayanagar 4th Block on Tuesday morning. Police said, around 8.30 am, thick flames were witnessed by a passerby from the first floor of Uday Electronics. Four fire tenders were rushed to the spot immediately. The cause of fire is yet to be ascertained.

Two houses burgled

»Burglars targeted two houses in a row on KK Lane in Cottonpet and decamped with cash and valuables worth more than Rs 5.7 lakh on Monday. The complainant, Samiullah has stated that miscreants forcibly gained entry into his house using a duplicate key and made away with Rs 1.5 lakh cash and around Rs 1.2 lakh worth valuables. The house of Babu, Samiullaha’s neighbour has also also burgled in a similar way. Gold and silver ornaments worth around Rs 3 lakh was found missing from his house.

Two autos seized

»Two autorickshaws worth Rs 1.5 lakhs with identical registration numbers were seized by the RMC Yard Police and a person was arrested in this connection on Sunday. Pushparaj (25) of Nandini Layout was driving an autorickshaw (KA 05 AA 6488) on M E I Factory Service Road when Police got suspicious about it and asked him to stop. He was nabbed when he tried to flee.

During interrogation, Pushparaj told that he had purchased an unregistered autorickshaw from one Krishna. He used the registration number of the vehicle he owned and which he had given to one Puttaswamy on hire. He kept the unregistered auto for himself.
